The Bernard collection: a Tobique Complex site from the mid St. John River Valley, New BrunswickNew Brunswick Department of Municipalities, Culture, Housing, Cultural AffairsFredericton19900-88838-347-9eng21New Brunswick Manuscripts in Archaeology25EArchaeologyNoKOERNER LIBRARY microforms (Floor 2) MICROLOG 95-00536This initial report is based on a collection made over a number of years from a site on the Tobique Indian Reserve in New Brunswick. Theimpetus for examining the collection is the possibility that the area may be chosen for a sewage lagoon. This report gives an introduction to the region, followed by a description of the collections. It then examines some of the questions surrounding the site, the Tobique valley, and a certain period in New Brunswick's past to put the site into historical and regional context. Recommendations are offered forthe site's future.(New Brunswick archaeology / New Brunswick. Archaeology Branch; 25)BNBA 580
