Description
This is the first publication to explore the history and importance of the countrywide memorial-building program leading up to Canada's Centennial in 1967. These architectural initiatives were in fact a nation-building exercise that communicated the growing confidence and cultural awareness of Canadians. While many of the projects were cultural in nature such as museums, cultural centres, and educational structures, the main New Brunswick project was the Centennial Building, an International style office building in Fredericton.
