Description
A collaboration between the photographer and the poet Douglas Lochhead, this beautifully designed and executed book pays tribute to the landscape and history of the Tantramar Marsh. The land was reclaimed by Acadian settlers who, in the mid-1600s, built dykes to hold back the powerful Bay of Fundy tides. The images capture not only the vastness of the marsh, but also evidence of human presence: cultivation, farm buildings, and the CBC radio towers for many years (until recently) on the horizon. The black-and-white photographs in this large-format art book were taken with a banquet camera.
