John Francis Teed was a third-generation Loyalist and a celebrated master builder from Dorchester. Beyond notable buildings in his hometown, Teed's reputation was sealed with the construction of Mount Alllison University's Centennial Memorial Hall (1884) and the Owens Art Gallery (1895).
