Description

MacFarlane attempted a complete record of the province's English-language books and writers to 1895. Although dated, MacFarlane's bibliography remains an important resource for historians, particularly for its detailed annotations and interesting biographical notes. MacFarlane attempted to keep his bibliography up-to-date by publishing addenda and corrections in the New Brunswick Magazine, volumes 1 (1898) and 2 (1899). An author index was compiled (source unknown) but never published. It can be consulted at the New Brunswick Legislative Library.
