Practical Arithmetic: A Textbook-Workbook for Canadian High Schools. Book 1
Publication Details
This is not a children's book per se, but its focus on educational material is in keeping with Brunswick press's commitment to young readers. Written by Robert MacFarlane, a teacher at Saint John Vocational School, the book contains seventy-five mathematical lessons with practical examples that students can work through on their own. According to the verso of the title page, the book was "printed and bound by University Press of New Brunswick, Limited. Fredericton, New Brunswick." Between 1956 and 1958, W.J. Gage and Company of Toronto published a three volume version of this title, suggesting that New Brunswick Press abandoned textbook publishing after its first foray. The book’s title page lists the publication date as 1953, 1954.
