Yorkshire Immigration (1772-1775): Bibliography: Selected Sources on Early European Settlement in the Chignecto Region

Between 1772 and 1775, more than one thousand British emigrants from Northern England settled in the North American colony, the majority in the Chignecto region, the area around the present-day border of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Given the small population of the region at the time (13,374 in 1767), this was a substantial influx that considerably altered the ethnic and cultural composition of the area.
