Jacques G. Albert

1944-

Jacques G. Albert is a teacher, historian, author, and longtime member of the Madawaska Historical Society (at least from 1994-2015).  He was born in Saint-François-de-Madawaska on 10 January 1944.  He studied at the Séminaire Notre-Dame-du-Perpétuel-Secours in Moncton, New Brunswick (1958-1963) and later at Université de Moncton (BA 1966, B.ED. 1967, MA Ed. 1969). He began teaching in 1971 at Notre-Dame school in Edmundston, NB, and later joined Cité des Jeunes A.M.-Sormany (1974-1999). He received the Quarter-century award from the NB Museums Association in 2012 and in 2019, the Racine Prize of the Cultural Society of Saint-François was awarded to Albert. A prize was named in his honour by the Madawaska Historical Society (the Jacques-G-Albert Award) in 2015.
