Guidelines for Conducting Heritage Resource Impact Assessments in New Brunswick

New Brunswick's third installment of the provincial guidelines saw several substantial changes and updates. The new guidelines, among other things, revised the definition of " Heritage Resources"; specified differences between historic and pre-Contact resources; established permitting requirements for preliminary investigations, geophysical surveys, and underwater surveys; changed the minimum qualifications for permittees; introduced guideline for assessing "built heritage"; and introduced areas of "medium" potential which subsequently increased the minimum amount of subsurface investigations.
