The village of Stanley, north of Fredericton, was founded as a lumbering community in 1835. Presented here is a scaled reproduction of an 1836 British promotional book complete with lithographs of the pioneer community showing a lumber dam, mill, housing, and a unique log tavern built in the Picturesque style.
