Description

Leonard uses a temperature index for the suitability of maize production and concludes that much of New Brunswick would have been suitable for maize production during the Maritime Woodland period, the same time it proliferated in southern New England and Ontario. This raises important questions about why Wabanaki people did not grow corn before European contact.
