Source Materials Relating to the New Brunswick Indian
Publication Details
Produced as a representative collection of documents (seventy-one in all, both published and archival) for a new course at the University of New Brunswick. The authors claim that "no other source book comparable to this one has ever been printed, and the contents of the book have heretofore been inaccessible, for all practical purposes, to all but a handful of scholars." They go on to say that "Most of the documents we have selected were written by whites for whites; it is difficult to find material which expresses an Indian point of view... The documents therefore often reflect white attitudes and, in some cases, biases, a fact which should be borne in mind by anyone using this book."
