Bibliography of New Brunswick Geology (1839 to 1988)
Publication Details
Supersedes the compilation published by the New Brunswick Research and Productivity Council in 1969 (see Abbott, D.) and includes twenty-eight hundred entries, or almost twice the number appearing in the earlier work. "Federal and provincial government reports, together with papers from geoscientific and technical journals comprise the majority of the entries, but theses, field guides, consultant reports, and articles from books and newspapers are also listed." About five hundred entries are dated before WWI, with a third of these publications being the work of just three men—G.F. Matthew, L.W. Bailey and R.W. Ells. The earliest entry is Abraham Gesner's first of four reports on the geology of New Brunswick published in 1839 by the provincial government.
