Building Canada: An Architectural History of Canadian Life

A significantly altered and enlarged second edition of the author's 1958 Looking at Architecture in Canada. Like many such books of the time, the historic architecture of New Brunswick is discussed and depicted only sparingly: Christ Church Cathedral in Fredericton, the Carleton Martello Tower in Saint John, and the Charlotte County Court House in St. Andrews are some of the few examples represented. No mention is made of New Brunswick buildings past the 1870s.
