Although Hill's study of early Fredericton settlers and their homes is replete with factual and chronological assumptions, it remains an important study of historic Fredericton and Loyalist New Brunswick. Given that it was also one of the first modern books to carefully study historic architecture in the region, its inconsistencies can be forgiven.
