Lochhead deserves to be remembered in any bibliographic project that concerns New Brunswick. A distinguished poet, academic librarian, bibliographer, and university professor, Lochhead publishes more than thirty books of poetry. He became Davidson Chair of Canadian Studies at Mount Allison University in 1975, and lived in Sackville until his death in 2011. His contributions to bibliography include editing, with Raymond Tanghe, the second edition of the Bibliography of Canadian Bibliographies (1972). Lochhead was awarded the Bibliographical Society of Canada's Tremaine medal in 1985.
