Ross Leckie
1953-

Ross C. Leckie is a Canadian poet and expert in poetics. He was born in Lachine, Quebec, in 1953. He holds degrees from McGill, Concordia, and the University of Toronto (Ph.D.). Leckie taught poetry and creative writing at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, NB. He has been editor of the Canadian literary journal The Fiddlehead and poetry editor for the poetry book series published by Goose Lane Editions. In 2008, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship. Leckie has published The Critique of Pure Reason (2013), a chapbook from Frog Hollow Press. He has also published three books of poetry, A Slow Light (1983) with the Signal Editions series of the Véhicule Press: The Authority of Roses (1997) with Brick Books and Gravity’s Plumb Line (2005) with Gaspereau Press. His creative work has appeared in such journals as The Fiddlehead, The Antigonish Review, Descant, ARIEL, The New Republic, Denver Quarterly, Southwest Review, and American Literary Review.
