Peter Pacey
1948-

Peter Pacey (actor, director, writer and producer), born in 1948, is founder of the long standing Calithumpians Tour & Theatre Company. Pacey is a writer and producer, and co-author of Building Capital, a guide to Fredericton’s Historic Landmarks (2014). Pacey has taught Canadian Studies at high school and university, and has performed widely throughout Canada and into the United States, including the National Arts Center, Theatre New Brunswick, and Neptune Theatre. He has been producer of Fredericton Outdoor Summer Theatre featuring the Calithumpians for over a quarter century. Lately he has been specializing in “personations,” an innovative approach to historical re-enactment and public performance wherein he has portrayed various historical personages. He is presently working on Ned Winslow – Loyalist Man of Letters. In 2012 he received the Paul Harris Award and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award. He was the 2016 recipient of The Playhouse Honours (Fredericton Playhouse). In 2020 he received the UNB Alumni Award of Distinction.
