Don Brewster
1926-2022
Donald Brewster was born in Moncton, New Brunswick on 8 March 1926. He later went into the military. After a visit to his brother who was attending the University of New Brunswick (sometime after 1947), Brewster moved to Fredericton. After moving to several other places in Canada, he returned to NB and operated a grocery store for two years in Fredericton (ca. 1971). After he sold his grocery store, Brewster wrote articles for the monthly Mal-I-Mic News. At the age of 50, Brewster began to write and publish children’s books: How Willy Became an Explorer (1979) and Oland the Unwise Owl (self-published in 1980). Brewster's publishing company was called Lyndon House Publishing, founded ca. 1979 and stopped publishing in ca. 1984. Brewster died 15 May 2022 in Fredericton.

Scope and Content NoteFonds consists of records created during Don Brewster's time as President of Lyndon House Publishing and as a writer. Fonds includes typescripts of his short stories and novels such as DEWLINE Diary and The Mystery of the Giant Flower Pots. Also includes notes and research on the genealogy of the Brewster family and photographs of Brewster's time spent up north working on the Distant Early Warning Line (DEW Line).
