David Galloway
1919-1994
David Robertson Galloway was born in 1919 in Ayrshire, Scotland. He received his education at Cambridge University in England. He received the Military Cross in the Second World War, having served with the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders of the British Army. Galloway taught at the University of New Brunswick and was Professor of English Literature (1948-1985) and Chairman of the Department of English (1969-1975). He was named Professor Emeritus in 1985.In December 1987, Galloway, received an election to a Fellowship in the Royal Society of Arts (London). Galloway wrote Records of Plays and Players in Norfolk and Suffolk, 1330-1642 (1980) and Norwich 1540-1642 - Records of Early English Drama (1984). He died on 25 November 1994.
