James Mullinger
1978-
James Mullinger was born 11 March 1978 in London, England. He has a BA Hons English Literature from Kingston University (UK) and a BTEC Journalism from East Berkshire College (UK). He was Comedy Editor for GQ Magazine when he moved to Saint John, New Brunswick, in 2014. He is a writer and actor, known for Angelo's (2007), Vendetta (2013), and The Comedian's Guide to Survival (2016). He won the Best Documentary at the Silver Wave Film Festival (2017). Mullinger is the co-founder of The Maritime Edit magazine. He starred in three seasons of the award-winning Canadian television series Blimey! An Englishman In Atlantic Canada for Bell Aliant. Mullinger's 2023 venture is Brit Out Of Water, a sitcom about a comedian forced to move to Canada to escape a Brexit scandal. It was filmed in Miramichi and was the first English-speaking sitcom filmed and set entirely in New Brunswick. Brit Happens - Living the Canadian Dream was his first book, released in May 2022, the same year he became a Canadian citizen. Brit Happens won the Writers' Federation of New Brunswick Nonfiction award in 2023.
