Marielle Boudreau
1942-

Marielle Cormier Boudreau is originally from Bertrand and now lives in Shippagan, NB. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Collège Jésus-Marie (Shippagan), a Master’s in French from Université Laval (Quebec), and she pursued doctoral studies in literature at the Université d'Aix-en-Provence (France). She taught at the Collège de Bathurst during the 1970s then at the Université de Moncton, Shippagan Campus, where she was a professor of French and Acadian Folklore for some thirty years. She has researched Acadian traditions for more than thirty years, which gave rise to many conferences and refereed publications.  She wrote La cuisine traditionnelle en Acadie (1975) and  Médecine traditionnelle en Acadie: Enquête ethnographique (1992).
