Comments on a number of aboriginal school programs set up by Catholic, Anglican, and Methodist orders in New France, New Brunswick, Upper Canada, and Rupert's Land from the 1610's to the 1860's. The programs include segregated and nonsegregated boarding and day programs, manual labor programs, and French, English, and native-language programs, most of which were unsuccessful.
