Description
The author connects the mid-century's wide embrace of modern architecture in the region with its shunning of the same by the 1980s and 1990s. He explores a number of key modern buildings in the Maritimes, as well as the more recent narrative of folk-based kitsch or imitation in historicist architecture. The Pays de la Sagouine in Bouctouche is cited as an example of the latter.
