Description
A study of collegiate buildings in the Maritime Provinces during the 19th century, this article focuses on Dalhousie, Acadia, and Mount Allison universities as case studies introducing classicism to the vocabulary of Canadian institutional design. The later emergence of Gothic Revival is illustrated by other universities in the region, as well as by Fredericton's Christ Church Cathedral.
