Sarah French
1792-1872
Sarah (French) MacLauchlan (novelist) was born in England in 1792. In 1842, she arrived in Saint John, New Brunswick as a widow. In 1850, she married a barrister by the name of William MacLauchlan and they resided in Saint John. French died in Saint John on 15 February 1872. She wrote two novels: Letters to a Young Lady on Leaving School and Entering the World (1855) and A Book for the Young (1856).
